The Church Administrative Assistant shall be a person of recognized Christian character; exhibit character traits that reflect emotional maturity, sound judgment, and moral temperament consistent with the teachings of the church; and shall demonstrate confidentiality and personal compatibility with the laity and the professional staff.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of a broad range of administrative practices and principles
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple high visibility projects simultaneously without direct supervision
  • Ability to become proficient in Microsoft Office, Publisher, and ProPresenter software
  • Skill in developing and maintaining positive working relationships and communications with the Pastor, Church Administrator, church staff, and members of the congregation

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate, some secondary education preferred
  • Five years’ experience that demonstrates a broad knowledge of administrative practice and principles
  • Skill to operate an office computer and associated peripheral equipment and software

 

The Administrative Assistant shall be responsible for the duties listed below, working under the direction of the Church Administrator and Pastor. This person shall support the liturgy, ritual, and educational ministry of the Global Methodist Church. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor
  • Organize flow of operational program processes in a church office environment
  • Establish status of actions on numerous projects and church operations
  • Develop internal policies, procedures and work methods affecting administrative operations
  • Learn database software and maintain church membership records
  • Collect, compile, and organize information and data to meet administrative requirements
  • Prepare correspondence, church bulletins, ProPresenter files and Power Point announcements
  • Provide clerical support to the Pastor and staff
  • Arrange and maintain church calendars for staff
  • Receive telephone calls, visitors, and outside contacts and direct them to appropriate contacts
  • Route information as required
  • Assist and support church staff and congregation positively and in a friendly manner
  • Take action to solve problems quickly
  • Alert the Senior Pastor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise
  • Prepare all bulk mail, Monthly Newsletters, texts, and emails for distribution
  • Prepare annual Charge Conference Reports and Denominational Reports
  • Update the church webpage as needed
  • Take continuing education as needed
  • Assume additional duties as assigned

 

 

Salary Range: $25,000-$31,000 (Commensurate with hours & experience) + individual health insurance is available

Hours: 40 hours per week (full time); Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
