1 Timothy 2:1-10
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and
thanksgiving be made for all people— 2

for kings and all those in authority,
that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be
saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and
one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave
himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the
proper time. 7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an
apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a true and faithful
teacher of the Gentiles.
8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands
without anger or disputing. 9

I also want the women to dress modestly, with
decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles
or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10 but with good deeds, appropriate
for women who profess to worship God. NIV
1. The _______ of this world have always _________ God and the
_____ he would have for us.
John 10:10
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may
have life and have it abundantly. ESV
Psalm 2:1-2
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of
the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against

his anointed... NIV

Romans 1:16-20
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God
that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the
Gentile. 17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a
righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The
righteous will live by faith.”
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the
godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their
wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them,
because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the
world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—
have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so
that people are without excuse. NIV

2. _____ for all our rulers and take part in _________ and government
as good _________.
3. _______, find, and do _____, to people who see you as an _______,
expecting to _________ evil.
Romans 12:17-21, 13:1-2
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the
eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at
peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave
room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”
says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no
authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist
have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the
authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so
will bring judgment on themselves.
Luke 6:27-28
27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to
those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who
mistreat you. NIV
