The Associate Pastor of Small Groups and Youth Ministry will support the church’s mission by overseeing and developing Wesleyan styled Small Groups and leading dynamic, Christ-centered youth ministry. This role requires a passion for spiritual growth, leadership development, and relational ministry, with a strong emphasis on mentoring and guiding both youth and adults in their walk with Christ. Our Small Groups are influenced by the Wesleyan model of Class and Band Meetings. The Associate Pastor is directly responsible to the Senior Pastor for guidance in ministerial duties at Trinity Methodist Church. Trinity is a Global Methodist Church; therefore, applicants must personally accept the Biblically based beliefs and doctrines of the Global Methodist denomination.
This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
A. Small Group Ministry:
• Implementation: Establish and launch the Small Group Ministry of the church.
• Training and Equipping: Train and support Small Group leaders, lay people, teachers, and other discipleship volunteers to ensure a clear pathway for spiritual growth to nurture them in their walk with Christ.
• Collaboration: Work closely with volunteer ministry leaders to integrate small groups into all aspects of church life, ensuring a holistic approach to spiritual growth. We desire a team approach to our discipleship efforts at Trinity.
B. Youth Ministry:
• Spiritual Care: Provide for the spiritual care and development of our youth, both middle and high school. The Associate Minister should assist and encourage our youth in their understanding of the Word of God and its practical application to their daily walk with Jesus. For this reason, we expect the Associate Pastor to encourage our teenagers in their school and extracurricular activities.
• Program Leadership: Plan and lead weekly Youth Ministry, Bible studies, Sunday School, and small group meetings that engage, challenge, and encourage spiritual growth among middle and high school students.
• Relational Ministry: Build strong, supportive relationships with youth, providing mentorship and guidance in their faith journey.
• Outreach and Evangelism: Develop strategies that are welcoming and inclusive for unchurched youth in the community with the goal of personal salvation, spiritual growth, and discipleship.
• Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise adult leaders willing to be involved in the lives and ministry to teenagers.
• Event Planning: Organize retreats, mission trips, service projects, and other special events that provide opportunities for youth to grow spiritually and develop leadership skills.
C. Pastoral Responsibilities:
• Discipleship: Give oversight and counsel to Sunday School, Bible Studies, and spiritual growth programs.
• Pastoral Care: Provide spiritual guidance, counseling, and support to church members, helping them grow in their faith and navigate life challenges.
• Worship: Contribute to corporate worship leadership at the direction of the Senior Pastor.

D. Qualifications:
• Ordination: Clergy ordination is required.
• Education: A bachelor's degree is required. A Master’s Degree in Theology, Ministry, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in Church Ministry, with a focus on Small Groups and youth work is preferred.
• Spiritual Maturity: A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life that reflects the character and teachings of Christ.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire both youth and adults.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively teach and preach.
• Technology: Computer proficiency, and experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is required.
• Relational Skills: Ability to connect with people of all ages to build meaningful relationships.
• Team Player: Displays desirable qualities such as teamwork, cooperation, dependability, organization, hard work, respect, staff loyalty, and a teachable spirit.
• Visionary: Ability to see and implement a vision for both small groups and youth ministry that aligns with Trinity's overall mission and vision.
E. Key Competencies:
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives effectively.
• Creativity: Innovative approach to ministry, particularly in engaging youth and adults in nurturing their spiritual growth.
• Empathy: Understanding and compassionate, particularly towards the needs and challenges facing youth and church members.
• Information Management: Work in concert with Trinity’s IT policies and procedures to use current and emerging technology as effective tools for conducting and enhancing ministry.
F. Working Conditions:
• Hours: Full-time position with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate church events and youth activities.
• Environment: Work is performed using a flexible work model that combines remote and in-office work. Incorporation of off-site visitation to schools and youth activities is expected.
G. Compensation:
• Salary: $35,000.00 to $40,000.00 depending on experience level.
• Benefits: Health insurance, retirement plan, vacation, and housing compensation as applicable.
